Laura DeCapua
Nice to meet you, I’m Laura
While our therapeutic work together focuses entirely on your journey and healing, I believe it can be helpful to know a bit about the person you'll be working with.
Why I focus on EMDR for reproductive trauma
Since completing EMDR training in 2015, I’ve made this powerful therapeutic approach the foundation of my private practice. In 2022, while pursuing advanced training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International, I saw how my decade of EMDR expertise could offer something essential—a way to help clients navigate the unexpected and often isolating realities of their reproductive stories.
Too often, I’ve met clients in the midst of some of the hardest moments of their lives—feeling alone, dismissed, or misunderstood, even by well-meaning supports. Let’s be real: topics like reproductive health, grief, and loss—especially when there’s no simple solution—are often avoided, leaving people to suffer in silence. I wanted to create a space where individuals like you could come, take a breath, and not only feel supported but have a tangible way to move through the immense emotions of this journey.
What draws me to this work is witnessing clients reclaim what has been taken from them—their sense of power, peace, and time. It is deeply meaningful to provide focused, effective treatment that helps people move forward in a way that feels true to them. After EMDR therapy, clients often report feeling more connected to their bodies, experiencing less anxiety, increased self confidence, and developing more efficient ways to cope with triggers and difficult emotions.
I am continually humbled by the privilege of supporting clients through these profound experiences. This work matters. You matter. That’s why I remain deeply committed to offering trauma-informed, goal-focused care that blends evidence-based practices with compassionate support—helping you process, heal, and build resilience for the future.
